Build a special bond with your daughters


I READ with interest the article by Steve Dawson titled Friends, Foes And Woes (Life!., May 5).
In it, he asked: "Who needs Dad when you have the company of good friends?"
To him and all Dads who love their daughters and can't help but feel lost as you watch your beloved girls grow up into women, I have this to say - build a relationship. When you do that, that special bond becomes irreplaceable, even long after she grows up and has her own family.

My Dad and I do not have the rosy ideal father-daughter relationship that fiction writers write about or successful people claim to enjoy. Like Mr Dawson, my Dad featured preminently in my childhood and growing up years. He was always cajoling me to do things that I would otherwise not have the courage to try. Like, for instance, jumping over the big drain near my home.Sometimes, he would say or force me to do things I didn't like or in ways I didn't want to. Looking back, I think it is just a natural part of growing up that fathers sometimes tried too hard to make things work.


Today, I still do not understand why he must insist on having his way. But I do know now that deep in his heart, he really meant well then.


My Dad is a serious person. Like most Dads, he chooses to let on his true feelings only on certain occasions.But to all the women out there, I have this to say - the fact that our Dads fought with us so much goes to show how much we mean to them.Not our brothers, not our boyfriends, not even our husbands. These other men in our lives play important and unique roles but they do not have the capacity to love us as our Dads do and always will.

Fathers have a special place in our hearts.
So Dads, don't worry that your girls will forget you or replace you with their friends because no matter how close they are to them, I'm sure that in their hearts, they have a special place for you.

Just like you do for them.

i'm happy people.....must be the endorphines released after exercising!


Life is good.
My daddy and lil sister is back safely from KL.
My mum is happily singing away irritating the whole neighbourhood.
my brothers r.........not being irritating at the moment.
my grandma has become infinitely nicer to me since she moved out.....



If I were to die today....Will I have any regrets????


Well......other than not actually telling wtc that i had a huge crush on him and meeting jay chou face to face......I donch really think I have any regrets, just that maybe I can't live longer to enjoy what life has to offer.


I think..........i feel contended for now......
I have a lovely lovely family.....


My daddy is clumsy at expressing his feelings and emotions, but he is always there for me. He is always listening, patiently giving advice and always always in a good temper. For that I will always be thankful, and pray that if I ever become a parent, I will be like him.

There was once I dreamt that he died while running marathon. I woke up crying. The next day, I told him what happened and he got a shock of his life. Coz he joined the Standard Chartered Marathon Run and the marathon was tomorrow. And he didn't tell me about it at all.
Scary right? He didn't go in the end. I shudder to think what might happen if he ran.


My older bro is..........okay....i shall skip him....i have showed him enough love by being his personal cook, maid,chaffeur, football picker, football cheerer and facial consultant......enough said.


My younger bro is the nicest sibling to moi.........he is the only one that will buy food and leave some for his big jie jie. :) So sweet right? Though he's really mean to my daddy......my only wish is that he will be nicer to my daddy. That's all.


My younger sis is a monkey, gorilla, baboon, chimpanzee all rolled into one. She is my bolster, my pillow, an irritating fly and a naggy roomie/sleeping partner. She attracts all the mosquitoes in the room. She hogs the bed. She is bossy at times. But neverthless, she buys tao huey for me. And she tahans all my really shitty crap........like singing jay chou songs in the middle of the night, my endless whinings of fyp and whatnots...............and my narcissistic endeavours (which i WILL NOT reveal)


The person I'm most apologetic to is my mommy. Maybe because we are too alike. We are always quarelling. And when i was young, i kind of hated her. But ever since that *incident*.......i realise that beneath all these tough lady cover...........she is actually very vulnerable. But she's a strong lady. She had been through so much. I'm really proud of her and happy that she's beginning to cherish life and enjoy her life a bit more. My wish is that she will never ever have to face that horrible disease again and that she will get to have a nice retirement with my daddy, just the two of them, with us 4 pesky kiddies.



And to my SA buddies......who i am today is partly due to all your influences.
Audrey......who made me so san ba.......
Jo....who made me so san ba too..........
Jess......who made me so hua chi.........
Liz......who made me jian fei..............
Really missed those SA days.......what would I do without u all? I know I must be a very difficult person to be with since i am hua-chi-ing 24/7.



And though right now my heart is aching for a long gone fren......not as in she's dead, but we just fell apart..............
I'm still happie and thankful.........


Oh well...........oh yeah.....and forgot to thank ed.
Who loved me once.
Who still love me....(though he love himself more.)
Who taught me to be strong
Who showed me what it's like to love and be loved.
Who gave me the courage to be who i want to be.
Who tahaned all my tantrums and whinings and my acting cute.
Who is the only person I can really be 100% comfortable with.


It was a sweet yr before everything started to get bad.
I'm thankful for that.
That's more that what I can ever ask for or hope for. :)


Though i lose a fren........but this is a reminder of how precious and fragile relationships r.....i pray hard that I have not taken u all for granted and if I am guilty, pls let let me know yeah? Let's not wait until everything is too late. If u are not happy that I am stubborn, irritating, straightforward, bitchy, and whatever bad traits I have........must tell me hor............


Anywayz.......this is called transferring the negative energy to positive energy...........


So people, back to topic...(what topic?!?)

i love my F.L.Y cia cia sista.......for being such an orang utan/chimpanzee/gorilla..........for letting me hug her at night through the bleakest period of my life............and for putting up with my PMSes....

and i love my didi...........for being the only person who is always so concerned abt me..*gan dong*......and who always share food with me.....

and i love my ditsy maid..........who never fails to leave dinner for me.........who always cook my fav dishes and makes me laugh with her lousy english.........

and i can't believe it.......but i actually miss my ah ma..............who's now staying at my aunt's place...........

this always happens when I am about to go overseas.............

and it doesn't help that it's my daddy's birthday and he's away, and my sister's away...........
